Every year we invite people to join us on a work team for Spring Break in the Philippines. They often reply, "Oh, I would love to go with you. I have always wanted to do something like that, but I really need to make a plan a year ahead of time." Why not plan ahead right now for Spring Break 2011?
Well... why not get off the fence, and join us on the wall in 2011? Come join us for nine days at the Rehoboth Children's Home in tropical Sampaloc, Philippines.
Team Montana will be leaving on March 11th and returning home March 20th, 2011. Our mission is to complete the south security wall beginning by the main road, over the lagoon and up the hill, joining the front and back walls that were constructed in the spring and summer of 2009. The estimated cost to build this final security wall is $50,000. We already have $10,000 designated for this project.
We will also begin construction on the Community Medical Clinic. This clinic is being constructed through a grant provided by the Lions Club International Foundation, the Bozeman Lions Club and the Tanay-Kapuso Lions Club. The International Foundation is contributing $37,500 and the Bozeman Lions Club is helping us to raise $18,750, the local matching funds needed to receive the grant. Thus far we have received $11,179.20 through fundraising events and donations. We are currently fundraising for the balance of $7,570.80, our matching funds.
