We refer to grades as what grade your child will be entering into the upcoming fall. Please make sure your child's birthdate and grade information is correct when registering.
We offer horseback riding as an add-on opportunity for Pathfinders, Trailblazers, Navigators, LITs, and for Family+ and Grand Camps, and for Our Name Your Adventure Retreat. We partner with Mystic Saddle Ranch at Redfish Corrals to take campers on a guided 90-minute trail ride along Little Redfish Lake. The loop is great for beginners and experienced riders. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Helmets are provided by Mystic Saddle. Participants must be 6+.
The 90-minute ride is $55.
We offer white water rafting as an add-on opportunity for Navigators, LITs, and SALT, as well as for Family+ and Grand Camps, and for our Name Your Adventure Retreat. We partner with Sawtooth Adventure Co. for a 2-3 hour guided white water raft trip on the Middle Fork and Salmon River featuring Class III family-friendly rapids. Participants must be 10+.
This adventure is $90 for youth; $100 for adults.
There is no cell reception at camp, and we do not have wi-fi available. This allows all our campers – kids and adults alike – to disconnect for the week without any temptations to "check in." Our counselors are fully focused on their campers and campers are not distracted with devices. If you bring your phone, we recommend keeping it on airplane mode.
We currently do not offer a shuttle service from any location. We encourage you to organize carpools with friends and congregation members!
The nuclear family cap is $1,000 for youth camps and $675 for Family+ and Grand Camps. The cap is not automatic; please email our office to apply cap. We offer financial assistance for all camps and retreats through our Camperships. Please email our office at or (208) 886-7657 for assistance or more information.
Keeping food or sugary drinks in the cabins is an invitation for critters and bugs to join you! We ask that all snacks be kept at home. We have Canteen open twice/day for campers to purchase snacks such as fruit snacks, chips, juice boxes, granola bars, and ice cream. You can put money onto your camper's Canteen balance during online registration, or by bringing cash or check to camp. Should your camper have dietary needs that require certain snacks, please email to develop a plan to meet your camper's needs.
Camp is dirt terrain, and while the trails around camp are smoothed down, it can still be rocky. We recommend closed-toe and closed-back shoes. Campers in our youth programming (grades 1-12) must have a pair of tennis shoes or hiking boots to wear around camp, hiking the trails, and while horseback riding. Sandals are acceptable for beach day and walking to the bath houses.
We have updated about half of our cabins to include private restrooms and showers, as well as electric hand dryers. There are two private bathhouses on both sides of camp with toilets, sinks and showers that are within walking distance of all the cabins.
Our main lodge (Sawtooth) has modern bathrooms and electric hand dryers to cut down on paper use. Sawtooth Lodge also has a filtered water bottle drinking fountain.
We do our best to accommodate any food allergies. Please note any allergies in your registration forms. Vegetarian and vegan meals can be prepared upon request. Our kitchen is food sensitive, and we do our best to accommodate gluten, nut, dairy and other allergies. Please contact our Food Service Manager at at least two weeks before the program begins.
It is our deepest hope and prayer each camper has a positive experience at camp. Our staff are trained to promote inclusion, kindness, and positive relationships. We have a Health Care Manager on-site for the duration of our youth weeks. Our registration forms include areas to address medications, physical, mental, and emotional health. If your camper is someone who would benefit from special attention on our part so that they can be comfortable and successful at camp, please be in touch with us at as you discern registration or at least two weeks before your camper’s week begins so we can create a positive plan forward.
We have bunks in our log cabins with a twin-sized mattress. Please bring a sleeping bag or bedding for your mattress. It can dip to low temperatures at night, even into the 30s during the summer because we're at 7,200' elevation, so please ensure your bedding will be warm enough.
Check In for all camps and retreats is from 4 – 6 p.m. on the first day (Sunday for youth camps, Fridays for most retreats). Departure is from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the last day (Wednesday for Explorers, Friday for all other youth camps, Sunday for retreats). Campers are expected to be off-site by 12:00. LHBC provides an optional pack-out lunch for all campers and their families after Closing Worship.
You can request a Cabinmate when you register so you can be in the same cabin with your friend (of same programs/genders)! Invite all your friends to experience a week at Luther Heights!
Our $100 deposit is non-refundable. We require full payment 14 days from the start date of the program, and in the event of a cancellation the balance can be applied toward a future camp or retreat within the next operational season. If LHBC cancels, we offer a full refund or can hold the credit for a future date. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact us.
